Hope Works: A Whale’s Tale

Hope Works: A Whale’s Tale

by Clearcut Sound

We were delighted to have been asked to create the sound for “A Whale’s Tale” for the Hope Works project.

It was a real pleasure to be involved in something with such a great cause at its heart. And with four new parents at Clearcut Sound it’s also a treat to see our work air on CBeebies!

Launched in 2016 “Hope Works” is a project designed to utilise the power of digital channels to reassure and inspire hope within the children of today who are growing up exposed to 24-hour news broadcasting and negative social media.

12 films were produced by broadcasting giants including Disney EMEA and DreamWorks and the films launched simultaneously on networks around the world on World Children’s Day.

Commissioned by Cartoon Network, “A Whale’s Tale” is an animated tale about the issue of plastic pollution that tells the story of a whale that helps other sea animals free themselves of plastic, whilst on land a young boy is on a mission to clean up his local beach.

Brilliantly written and directed by Giovanna Utichi and Robin Celebi with beautiful artwork by Izzy Burton at Blue Zoo and a fantastic score by Kamal and the boys at WMP, sound design was completed by James with a special mention to Lucas for his masterful prawn foley.

A big congratulations to all involved in making the film.
